How to Join as a REALTOR® Member?
If you are Sales/Broker Associate joining a Broker:
Note: Per state regulations we cannot process your application until a license number has been assigned and your license has been activated by DLEG.
- Complete the MCAR Application. Application for REALTOR Membership
- What is the cost to join? Since we prorate the fees on a per month basis, it depends on when you make application. Contact us at 734-242-6866 to get an accurate cost.
- What will I need at the time of application?
**Submit copies of licenses, and application
**Submit payment for MCAR, dues and application fees
**Submit payment for MCAR MLS service fees
**Copy of Drivers license
**Copy of Real Estate License or Appraiser license
**Copy of Corporation license or Partnership license (new offices only)
**Two separate payments, one for MCAR and one for MCARMLS (see cost sheet)
Classes I must complete:
- New Member Orientation
The new member orientation is a requirement of your REALTOR® membership and
must be completed with sixty (60) days of your date of application. The one day class
will be 7 hours and will include the following topics:
**Association Structure (MCAR, MAR, NAR )
**Safety Practices
**Fair Housing Laws
**Anti-Trust Laws
**MAR Contracts
**Questions and Answers
**REALTOR® Pledge, Pins
- New Member REALTOR® Code of Ethics
As a new member of the Monroe County Association of Realtors, the Michigan and National Association of REALTORS® you are required to complete a 2.5 hour training course on the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. This mandate from the National Association of REALTORS® is enforced by your local association and must be completed within 60 days of the date your joining, per Article 5 Section 4 of the Associations Bylaws.
The Monroe County Association of Realtors requires new members to complete this training
online at www.realtor.org.
